Re-entry

I apologize that we haven't written sooner and more frequently over the past month or so. Somehow we seem to have lost some steam when it comes to writing Travelogue entries. That and hourly internet rates in Australia and New Zealand ranged between $4-$9 an hour. It often takes us an hour or two to write an entry and we were coming to the end of our travel money. But, enough excuses. Here's what's been happening:

We flew into Honolulu on Sept. 6th and met up with two friends who live on Oahu. That Friday my brother Dave and his girlfriend Dawn met us and we spent 4 days and nights swimming, boogie boarding, snorkeling, eating out and relaxing. It was really nice to see both of them again and they seemed to enjoy their beach vacation too.

Originally we were going to stay on the island for a total of 2 weeks but when Dave and Dawn left we decided that we were really eager to get back to the mainland so we changed our flight so we could fly to San Francisco the next day. We were met at the San Francisco International Airport by Megan's mom Sanna, her step-dad David, and Megan's sister Alexa.

I'm currently up at Harbin Hot Springs, about two hours north of San Francisco with Sanna and David. Megan is in Berkeley with Alexa doing "sisterly" things and getting caught up after a year of not seeing each other. Tomorrow Sanna, David and I are driving into San Francisco to meet up with Megan and Alexa and Megan's going to come up to Harbin with us. It's a really relaxed environment and it's allowing me the opportunity to get back into doing Yoga.

Anyhow, now that we're back (and we have a new PowerBook too!) we'll do our best to upload the remaining photos we have and write some more about the trip. For me coming "Home" after being gone for an extended period of time has always been more difficult than going somewhere new.

Welcome home Megan and Michael!
I can’t believe it over. My favorite travelers won’t be able to share their amazing stories anymore. Kinda sad.

Glad you guys are home, can’t wait to see you guys

Welcome back! I can imagine it'll be a bit of an adjustment to go from planning for the next leg of a trip to establishing a (more permanent) place to call home. (Though somehow I doubt that coming "home" this means the end of the amazing stories.) It's great that you have so much family right there to support you as you re-acclimate.

Can't wait to catch up at some point! At the very least, hopefully we'll be seeing you in April!

Welcome Back! I look forward to seeing you when you eventually trek to the east coast. I imagine there's a bit of culture shock. I wish you both well in reacclimating. Much love!

Welcome home... even though I know deep down in your hearts, the whole world is your home... still everyone who loves you here is happy to have you back on the same continent as us!

Sounds like Harbin is the perfect place to transition from the past year of globe-trotting to the future and whatever wonders it will bring.

Love you both and can't wait to see you again!
