About Us

We met in 1998 at the University of Masschusetts Amherst through our mutual friend Emily. We quickly became great friends and started dating. In 1999 we traveled to Germany (Megan to Heidelberg, Michael to Freiburg) to study for the year. We traveled throughout Europe while and fell in love with meeting new people and experiencing new cultures.

After graduation in 2001 we moved to Washington, D.C. where we lived and worked for 3 years. Megan taught 2nd grade at Webb Elementary School through Teach For America and completed her Masters in Teaching at American University. Michael worked as Director of Online Creative Strategy for Envision, EMI, a company that organizes youth leadership programs around the world.

We were married on August 7th, 2004 in western Massachusetts. We left four days later for a 13 month honeymoon volunteering and traveling around the world. Visit our travelogue and our photo gallery to find out more about our experiences and where we are now.
